The Association for New Canadians is accepting proposals from organizations, committees, and non-profits to help support Temporary Foreign Workers (TFWs) and build capacity within the sector to support this group of workers. Organizations from across the province are invited to apply. A series of seven (7) Information sessions will be delivered, with one occurring approximately once per month. These sessions will include guest speakers engaging with migrant clients during the event, building connections among attendees, and engaging other community groups who have a vested interest in migrant worker rights. Interested applicants can apply to host one session, or up to a maximum of seven sessions. Applicants must be able to host the sessions on the Avalon, in Central and Western Newfoundland, as well as in Labrador (to coincide approximately with the Association’s satellite office locations).
The successful organization should have some experience in supporting/advocating for Temporary Foreign Workers. The submission shall include information on their organization and how their work meets the RFP. A short description of the plan of work and implementation plan with deliverables and timetables. A cost breakdown as it relates to the expected deliverables.
The funds can be used for some hospitality, honoraria for guest speakers, travel, and printing/promotion costs. The maximum amount available per session is $1,000 for a total of $7,000 available. Applicants can apply to deliver one or more, or all of the sessions, provided they can demonstrate the capacity to do so.
