Our ongoing Roots and Resilience project aims to explore and develop the relationships between newcomers and Indigenous peoples. One of the first steps was the development of a land acknowledgement for organizational use. Launched on June 24, 2021, after extensive consultation and research, the land acknowledgement reflects the territories in which our offices are located as well as our commitment to the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
With deep respect and gratitude, we acknowledge that ANC offices are located on traditional Beothuk, Mi’kmaq, Innu, and Inuit territories. As newcomers to Ktaqmkuk (Newfoundland) & Labrador, we commit to collective healing, true reconciliation, and land-honoring.
