Immigrant Settlement Agencies help new immigrants and refugees on arrival in the province. Most agencies have interpreters and counsellors.
These agencies can help with immigration problems, finding jobs or housing, or by offering English classes.
There are also multicultural groups and volunteer organizations that work to assist newcomers. In Newfoundland and Labrador these include the Multicultural Women’s Organization, the African Canadian Heritage Association, among others, and the Réseau Immigration Francophones de Terre-Neuve-et-Labrador (Francophone Immigration Network of NL) within the Federation des francophones de Terre-Neuve et du Labrador FFTNL) in St. John’s .
